A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

Got questions? We’ve got you.
Here’s everything you might want to know before saying yes to a week in Madeira.

You’ll fly into Funchal Airport (FNC) in Madeira.

Many flights connect through Lisbon, which can also be a fun excuse to add a few days in Portugal before or after the retreat.

Once you book, we’ll share more travel details and help everyone coordinate arrivals.

Yes! We don’t want the first hello to happen while everyone is dragging a suitcase through the door.

We’ll have a group call before the retreat and a private group chat so you can meet everyone, ask questions, and coordinate travel before Madeira.

Pretty much everything that makes up our week together.

Your retreat includes your accommodation, community meals, daily yoga, daily meditation, guided group sessions, and our planned group adventures and experiences.

Think hiking and exploring Madeira, a sunset cruise, chocolate tasting, shared meals, and a few other fun things along the way.

Flights to Madeira, travel insurance, alcohol, personal shopping, spa treatments, meals or drinks you choose to purchase outside our planned meals, and any extra adventures you decide to add on yourself.

Tiny, on purpose.

The retreat is limited to just 7 guests, plus Rachel and Ingo.

That means we can actually get to know each other, share meals around one table, change plans when a better idea comes along, and create something that feels much more personal than a big group retreat.

Nope.

We hope you’ll join us for the things that feel good, but this is your retreat too.

Do the yoga. Skip the yoga. Take the hike. Take a nap. Stay up talking. Go have some quiet time.

There’s enough structure to create a shared experience and enough space to find your own rhythm.

Not at all.

Ingo will guide yoga each day, either in the morning or evening depending on our plans. The practices are designed to be approachable, whether yoga is part of your regular life or something you barely remember doing once.

We’ll also spend about 20 minutes in silent meditation each day. Nothing fancy and no enlightenment required. Just a little quiet time to pause and check in.

Think thoughtful conversation and reflection rather than sitting through a workshop.

We’ll explore things like the stories we tell ourselves, beliefs we might be ready to let go of, what we want more of, and what helps us feel most alive.

There may be writing, conversation, simple exercises, or time to reflect on your own. You can share as much or as little as feels right.

Simple, delicious, and communal.

Meals will be home cooked or prepared together as a group. Sometimes that might mean helping chop vegetables, setting the table, or making something together with music playing in the kitchen.

It’s less about formal dining and more about good food, a shared table, and the conversations that happen around it.

We’ll collect dietary needs ahead of time and do our best to accommodate them.

Definitely.

There will be time to swim, nap, read, journal, wander, sit with a coffee, talk to someone for three hours, or disappear for a little quiet time.

Not every moment needs an activity attached to it.

We’ll spend a full day hiking and exploring Madeira, along with a sunset cruise, chocolate tasting, and other group experiences throughout the week.

Our exact plans may move around depending on weather, local conditions, and the energy of the group. We like having a plan. We also like being able to change it when Madeira has a better one.

Definitely not.

Think of the itinerary as our rough plan for the week, not a minute by minute schedule.

Weather, local conditions, group energy, and spontaneous good ideas may change the order of things. The specifics can move around, but the overall mix of reflection, community, rest, and adventure will stay the same.

Absolutely.

You do not need to bring a friend or partner. In fact, coming solo can be part of the fun.

With only seven guests and a group chat before the retreat, you won’t be walking into a room full of complete strangers for very long.

No. If you’re comfortable sharing, we’ll match you with another retreat guest.

If you’d rather have your own space, you can request a private room.

We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone’s preferred room type, although specific rooms cannot be guaranteed.

Keep it casual and comfortable.

You’ll want clothes you can move in, walking or hiking shoes, a swimsuit, layers, and some light rain gear. Madeira can give you a little bit of everything.

We’ll send a more complete packing list before the retreat so you don’t have to figure it all out yourself.

Madeira is generally mild in November, but island weather likes to keep things interesting. You may get sunshine, clouds, rain, and cooler temperatures in the mountains all in the same day.

Layers are your friend.

We don’t just wave goodbye at the airport and disappear.

The group stays open, and a few weeks after everyone gets home, we’ll reconnect to catch up, see what stuck, and hear how real life is going.

You’ll have that option too.

Retreat guests will have access to exclusive coaching packages just for participants if you want some extra support carrying the reflection, clarity, or momentum from Madeira into everyday life.

Because of the planning and commitments involved in putting the retreat together, payments are nonrefundable. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers unexpected changes, cancellations, delays, or other situations that could affect your trip.
