The closest airport is Funchal Airport (FNC) in Madeira. If you fly via TAP Air Portugal, TAP allows you to schedule a “stopover” at the place of your layover (typically Lisbon) in case you want to spend a few days in Lisbon before or after the retreat.
Please note, most flights from the US depart the previous afternoon/ evening and land the following morning/ afternoon. If you need assistance booking flights, we’re happy to help.
We will have a pre-trip Zoom call and a WhatsApp group to coordinate group travel once you sign up.
It is strongly recommended that you buy insurance on your plane tickets as well as travel insurance. We are not responsible for travel delays or cancellations from missed flights, miss booked flights, weather or personal affairs.
Group transportation from the airport to the villa and back, family style meals, 6 night accommodations; on site activities.
Airfare, alcohol, a la carte food outside of meal time, excursions, spa treatments, and travel insurance.
Due to the planning and preparation required for these events, we are unable to offer refunds for any reason, including cancellations, schedule conflicts, or personal circumstances.
This is a small group of 8-12 people, selected carefully to make sure the retreat is a good idea for them at this time. You will have plenty of time to interact personally and make friends.
While you are not required to participate in all of the activities, we do encourage you to do so in order to get the most out of your time there. There is downtime built in to each day so that you can have time for yourself.
The food is healthy and plentiful, including full breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, along with snacks and drinks. You can make special requests ahead of time if you have dietary restrictions. Everyone will be asked to help a little with food prep or cleaning up.
Dress is casual and comfortable. The temperature can vary, so it’s a good idea to bring layers. For a movement exercise, you should have clothes you can move easily in. Also bring a bathing suit, walking shoes, and light rain gear. A more complete packing list and information guide will be sent to participants closer to the retreat date.
In November, Madeira typically experiences mild, spring-like weather. Temperatures are comfortable, with daytime highs averaging around 20°C to 22°C (68°F - 72°F) and nights cooling down to around 15°C to 16°C (59°F - 61°F). With respect to sea temperatures, the Atlantic remains relatively warm, with an average sea temperature of around 21°C (70°F), which is suitable for swimming.
No – if you're happy to share, we’ll pair you with another solo traveller. If you'd prefer your own space, you’re welcome to book a private room.
